In the year 2000, creation of the project „ THE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR EDUCATION IN THE FIELDS OF AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY AND VETERINARY MEDICINE” was adopted. The project is currently in its final phase of implementation. In recent times, we have created all prerequisites for such a center and we have invested 3.2 million euro in the construction of the new school facilities, training teaching staff and in equipping the school.

HIGH SCHOOL MATIJA ANTUN RELJKOVIĆ SLAVONSKI BROD

     In the year 2000, creation of the project „ THE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR EDUCATION IN THE FIELDS OF AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY AND VETERINARY MEDICINE” was adopted.      The idea of this project is to provide market-oriented knowledge for the fields of agriculture-forestry-veterinary medicine through regular classes, training, counseling and life-long learning. Furthermore, it will provide technical support and other services as well as a support for already existing and new agricultural companies, entrepreneurs and others in the region.

The long-term goal of „ THE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR EDUCATION IN THE FIELDS OF AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY AND VETERINARY MEDICINE”

     The idea is to increase the competition for young people on domestic and foreign markets through improved usage of natural resources, providing support for the introduction of modern technologies and business methods, and creating conditions for investment in new knowledge and new technologies.

    High school Matija Antun Reljković operates continuously since 1959. and from that time   until now, is the only agricultural school in this part of Sava River valley of Brod and Brod-Posavina County.

    Today, Brod-Posavina County has an area of 2034 km2 and more than 180 000 inhabitants. Our county, due to its mapping position, has approximately around 120 000 ha of agricultural land, with about 70 000 ha of forest and that shows significant potential. Silviculture is the area our county which is also significant, about 70 000 ha of forests extends in this area. The agricultural land and forests are important assets in development of a series of productive activities, such as agricultural activities, animal husbandry, farming, fish farming, nutrition, and these activities require young and trained personnel who will further develop this type of economy.
 
    High school Matija Antun Reljković as an institution of secondary education in fields of agriculture, forestry, veterinary medicine, chemistry, geodesy, ecology, nutrition has organized itself for these specific vocations with professional personnel and teaching staff and material conditions in the school. Furthermore, we can provide our students with everything they need for their training and education and by doing so in acquisition of their first occupation, but also we provide them with knowledge for their future education at colleges and universities.

   We have to mention that our school is modern and well equipped with all necessary
teaching equipment, places for scientific research and production. The funding for school’s equipment was realized through pre-accession funds CARDS2004, as well as participation from Brod-Posavina County, and other donations.


   Our school collaborates with entrepreneurs and holders of family farms and continuously conducts adult education. In our school facilities we organize educational, economic and scientific meetings, international economic inter-county fairs and livestock exhibitions. By doing so, we have become a place for life long learning and a significant international cooperation.

Tomorrow

    For our future generations we will try to be a school that will base its work on research in the fields of agriculture, forestry, veterinary medicine, chemistry, geodesy, ecology and nutrition. We will use online education and will try to apply experimental method - a school with no penalties. Our education and training tasks will be achieved through various forms of team work and active, constant learning. The main goal to resolve all existing problems will be a creative approach to each individual because; through a simple and efficient communication we can achieve selected tasks. Our students will be able to create many of the educational activities, determine the models and its learning objectives choose the time and place for learning, and together with teachers evaluate their achievements.
